  We stopped in to have some lunch prior to our Alcatraz cruise (probably, just like everyone else).  The menu had reasonable offerings and the service was quick enough to give us time to make our sailing.  I had the fish and chips (which was about a 10-15 minute wait time).  The fish was fine and the fries were fine (probably better than I expected, but I did not have high hopes for the venue, and we were just eating there out of convenience).
  
  My husband got the chili in a bread bowl, and he really loved it.  I was surprised, because he does love chili, but he's not usually one to enthusiastically recommend most of the food we end up eating out (so, this was something noteworthy).  My mother also had the chili (in a cup) and said it was really good as well.  The chili was also served as we paid, so one of the faster options to order.  My son had a chocolate muffin from the bakery cabinet and he enjoyed it.
  
  So, I wouldn't probably head there again (unless I was craving some chili or going to Alcatraz again) but it was reasonable food, if a bit pricey.  But, they are capitalizing in on a captive, tourist audience, so I figure that is to be expected (though, would be cool if they just charged normal sorts of prices).

  In a pinch for time, we opted to dine at this location prior to lining up for our ferry to Alcatraz. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options along with the freshness factor of both hot meals and danishes. I'm not one to gravitate to sweets for breakfast, but no doubt I'd have hollered up a doughnut if I were. Instead, I ordered a breakfast platter and it didn't disappoint. Moreover, it was an abundance of food and I couldn't finish it because I was full 1/2 way through my meal.
  
  One of us ordered a doughnut and Boy, oh Boy was it tasty! I may not be a sweet eater, but I surely sampled a bite for the purpose of an accurate and complete review. ;) My other friend and I ordered the breakfast platter which included: a hearty portion of scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, 2 pieces of perfectly cooked bacon and an English muffin. The eggs were well done just how I enjoy; albeit, salt and pepper was a necessary addition. The sausage wasn't without flavor and the muffin was toasted at a decent texture. I created a breakfast sandwich and ate the additional protein, but couldn't polish off the eggs because I was stuffed. The platter was fairly priced at $8.95. To go
  options were plentiful in the display case and included: fruit cups, parfaits, salads, sandwiches and hard boiled eggs. A multitude of baked goods and pastries were also available for purchase. Coffees including specialty ones such as cappuccino and lates were available to
  order. Also, wine options existed along with soda and water.
  
  The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and seating was adequate. More important, this convenient venue was cost friendly and came in clutch for us hungry ladies before our journey to The Rock.

  If it wasn't for a last minute 9:10am booking to tour Alcatraz, I would've never tried this place. I should've known this was gonna set the tone for a few days of being overcharged.
  
  We arrived a little before 8:30am ... after driving 5.5 hours & a short ferry ride across the bay, we just wanted something light to hold us down for the walking we were about to partake in. The line was understandably long, seeing how there was a few hundred people about to load a boat. It wasn't too long of a wait, pastry's to the left of the registers, we grabbed a cheese danish, a cheap little bottle of orange juice that runs $1.75 at your local 7/11 $2.00 MAX anywhere else, and I ordered a Bacon & Egg Muffin.
  
  What should have run me $10-12 ended up costing me $19.50!! Customer service wasn't the best, I get it, long line keep it moving... but c'mon, all rushed feeling like I'm bothering by asking a question. Lol.. I will say, the muffin was really good.

  While waiting for our Alcatraz tour, we decided to chill at the Alcatraz Landing Cafe.
  
  They offer breakfast items, sandwiches, fries, chicken tenders, doughnuts, coffee, etc. With so many amazing places to eat around the area, I recommend eating somewhere else if you can. This is a good option to have because it's convenient. There are also restrooms available and a souvenir shop in here. It was a nice place to rest, while we waited for our tour to begin. Things are a bit pricey at the cafe, but it is a touristy area. Employees were friendly enough and quick.

  Well I had an hour or so before my cruise to Alcatraz oh, so I thought I'd try this Cafe. I didn't have a great expectation, but I figured it would be fine. I waited my turn in line and ordered, I order the mission Burger, which had coleslaw and jalapenos grilled and onions grilled on it. I thought it sounded good. They said it would take about 15 minutes and they would bring it to my table terrific I was in no hurry. So nothing's cheap around there, but it wasn't that expensive I think it was $13. And I paid more for Less. And I sat down. I noted the time. And 17 minutes later out came my burger with fries and yes it was in a little to-go box in case I had to run to catch something. Well inside that little to-go box was beautiful Burger it tasted great that had a really meaty thick Patty, and with the flavor of the pepper jack cheese and the coleslaw and the grilled jalapenos really was wonderful. The fries were hot and extra crispy, and I enjoyed them as well. It was definitely a full meal and I was full and couldn't even finish all the french fries, and that's a rarity for me. So yep is it a trustee Zone sure. Can it be a little crowded you bet. Hey it's part of the experience and I would come back to this place for a burger again anytime. And I know my burgers. If your patient come on in. If you're in a great hurry or if you want prices like Costco go somewhere else. Well that's about all I got to say about this place served me well and I was happy.
